Why take a small business (SB) offering
Most small business require the rich enterprise-grade email and are beginning the long-overdue migration of their email from POP/SMTP servers to a cloud-based system. Most small business are concerned with costs and do not require some of the Enterprise services that are standard with the enterprise suite of products. Key questions to ask when deciding between the Hosted Exchange and Hosted Exchange for Small Business:
- Will there be a need for more than 20 Users – This service has been designed with the needs of small businesses in mind. Larger organisations have different and unique requirements. Should more than 20 users be required an upgrade to the Enterprise suite is required. This upgrade is seamless and effortless for the Domain
- Is there a requirement for Continuity or Dual Data Centers– To reduce the cost of the SB offering continuity has been removed and Email will be serviced out of a single Data Centre
- Is there a need in future for bigger mail boxes – The SB offering cannot be blended with the Hosted Exchange Enterprise offerings. Should this be a requirement, two options are available: Hosted Archiving as a bolt on service or upgrade to the Enterprise offering
The questions make it clear when the Small Business plan won’t work for a business, and the Enterprise plans are preferable. The SB plan is a great value if it works for the organization offering enterprise features that are a game changer for any SME. The Enterprise plans offer an increased feature set.
